Pink roses

May 12, 2004
Soon I will no longer be in the latest class to graduate from Kenyon College. I can't believe it's been a year. It feels much longer than that, actually. The roses are in bloom again at work, just like when Ken was dying. I think that pink roses will always remind me of death from now on. Dandelions remind me of home, because my mother and I love them so we have the yard carpeted with them. Lilacs make me nostalgic for Rochester, and daisies remind me of Matthew, because he gave them to me on the night I told him I loved him.
